Poor Bunny!: a platformer with no levels, only a forest that gets angrier

Poor Bunny! was made by Neutronized, the small Italian studio behind Super Fowlst and Drop Wizard, and released on Poki in 2023. There is no scrolling and no level select. The whole game is one screen: a pixel-art clearing with a wall of tree trunks on either side, a row of floating grass ledges, and a single carrot that appears somewhere new each time you take the previous one. The bunny can run, jump, and drop through a ledge, and that is the entire move set. What changes is the forest. Arrows start dropping from the canopy almost at once, some at random and some aimed at the bunny; about ten seconds in the first cannon slides out of a trunk and fires across the screen; then spiked balls, chain balls swinging through the middle ledges and saw blades running along the platforms join in, and nothing that arrives ever leaves. Every trap is announced a beat before it lands — a yellow ! where it will appear — and the whole game is reading those warnings while you plan a route to the next carrot.

The build on poorbunny.org is the Poki web version (v1.0.3), hosted on this domain rather than embedded from a third-party host, so it loads inside the page on a school Chromebook or a laptop and does not depend on someone else's server staying up. Carrots you collect are banked between runs and buy random costumes for the bunny, and your best run in each mode (single, co-op and versus) is stored in the browser.

Controls & mechanics

ActionControlPurpose
MoveLeft / Right arrows, or A / DThe bunny runs at one speed; there is no acceleration, so a tap is a small step
JumpUp arrow, W or SpaceTap for a low hop, hold for the full jump; you get a tenth of a second of coyote time after running off a ledge
Drop through a ledgeDown arrow or SFalls through the platform you are standing on — the fastest way out from under a spiked ball
2P co-op / VSPlayer 1: WASD · Player 2: arrow keysSame screen, same keyboard; in co-op you share the carrot total, in VS each carrot goes to whoever grabbed it
PauseEscOpens the pause menu with resume, restart and back-to-title buttons plus separate music and sound toggles; R restarts the run

How to survive past 30 carrots

  1. Watch the trunks, not the bunny: Every cannon slides out of the left or right wall as a dark silhouette a moment before it fires. If you are on that row when the barrel appears, move up or down a ledge instead of running along it — the ball crosses the whole screen at ledge height.
  2. Drop, don't jump, when something falls on you: Arrows and spiked balls fall faster than you can run out from under them, and the aimed arrows go where you were standing. Press Down to fall through the ledge and the shot passes over your ears; a jump only lifts you into it.
  3. Take the golden carrot only when the route is clear: Golden carrots are worth three, but they spawn in the same places ordinary ones do and the traps do not stop for them. Three points is not worth a run that had thirty.
  4. Keep to the middle ledges early: The top row is where the chain balls swing and the bottom row is the saw blades' favorite lane. Middle ledges give you both a jump and a drop as escape routes.
  5. Spend carrots on costumes between runs, not stats: Costumes are purely cosmetic — a hundred carrots buys one at random — so there is no upgrade to grind for. The only way to last longer is to learn the trap timings.

Key features

  • One screen, endless run: No levels and no scrolling: the same clearing every time, with five kinds of trap that stack up the longer you survive and a carrot that keeps moving.
  • Three ways to play: 1P chases your own best, 2P co-op shares one carrot total on one keyboard, and VS scores each player separately with a golden carrot worth three.
  • More than 100 bunny costumes: From plain colors to a robot, a capybara, a jackalope and a golden carrot suit; each 100 carrots you bank opens one at random.
  • Served from this domain: The game files live on poorbunny.org, so it loads with the page and keeps working when other hosts go down. Best runs are saved in your browser.

Pro tip: Nothing is thrown at you for the first ten seconds, so grab carrots at full speed until the first cannon or ball shows up; after that, slow down and take one ledge at a time, because every trap that arrives stays.

Frequently asked questions

Is Poor Bunny unblocked at school?

Poor Bunny runs in an ordinary browser tab from poorbunny.org, with nothing to download or install, so it plays on most school Chromebooks and work computers. If a network filter blocks the site, only that network's administrator can change it.

What is Poor Bunny!?

A one-screen arcade platformer by Neutronized: run and jump around a forest clearing collecting one carrot at a time while cannons, spiked balls, chain balls and saw blades try to hit you. One hit ends the run, and carrots buy random bunny costumes.

What are the controls?

Arrow keys or WASD to move, Up / W / Space to jump, Down / S to drop through a ledge. In 2P modes player one is on WASD and player two on the arrows.

Can two people play Poor Bunny! on one computer?

Yes. 2P is co-op with a shared carrot count, and VS scores each player separately. Both use the same keyboard: WASD for player one, arrows for player two.

How do I unlock bunny costumes?

Carrots collected in any mode are banked. The results screen counts them toward the next hundred; when it hits 100/100, click the bunny icon on the title screen for a random unlock from more than a hundred costumes.

Does it work on a school Chromebook?

Yes. The game is served from poorbunny.org, needs no download or plugin, and runs in Chrome on a Chromebook with the keyboard. Best scores are kept in the browser.

Why does the game end after one hit?

That is the design: Poor Bunny! is a survival score-attack. There is no health bar, so every yellow ! matters. Your carrot count and time are shown on the results screen and the best is saved. The heart dialog after a hit is the Poki ad revive, which does not run on this site — press X for the results.
